Dr. Víctor Astolfi González-Mogena

Dr. Víctor Astolfi is a periodontist and implantologist with a doctorate earned Cum Laude from the University of Seville and postgraduate training completed across four countries: Spain, France, Brazil and the United States. In 2025 he was selected by the International Team for Implantology (ITI), the world’s leading implant dentistry organisation, for one of its most competitive international scholarships, becoming one of the first two ITI Scholars ever hosted by Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in New York. He treats patients in Spanish, English and Portuguese.

The ITI Scholarship at Columbia

• The International Team for Implantology (ITI), founded in 1980, is one of the world’s most respected implant dentistry organisations, built around education, research and evidence-based practice.
• Its scholarship programme, running since 1998, has supported 400+ clinicians from over 50 countries through year-long immersive residencies at leading universities. There are roughly 45 scholarship centres worldwide.
• Dr. Astolfi won the 2025–26 place at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine (among the most competitive in the programme) and is one of the first two ITI Scholars Columbia has ever hosted.
• At Columbia he splits his time between patient care in the Implantology Center, clinical and translational research, and advanced coursework, working under Dr. Karim El Kholy, Dr. Dennis Tarnow (a defining figure in modern implantology) and Dr. Luiz Pimenta.
• To take the position, he stepped away from an established private practice to train full-time.
